The purpose of the Senior
Health and Resources Program is to provide community outreach and education,
preventative health, adult protection and advocacy services to seniors, at risk
adults and their families so they can be more independent, healthy and connected
to their community.
Later adulthood can be filled with many tasks,
such as retirement, social and civic responsibilities, along with biological,
psychological and social changes. Aging can also come with hardships such as
illness, caring for love ones and loss. Fortunately in our community such
challenges do not have to be faced alone. Gunnison County Senior Resource
Office offers numerous resources and services for a variety of situations from
caregiver support to Part D Medicare Counseling. Our office has a staff of
fully trained options counselors who are able to meet with you to determine what
resources are available to you or your loved ones. For more information, call
us at 970-642-7300.
Gunnison County also writes "The Senior Scoop",
regularly published in the Gunnison Country Shopper. The Scoop incudes up to
date information on local events, services, health and safety tidbits and more.
Donor Acknowledgement: Senior transportation program services are generously funded, in part, by Region 10 Area Agency on Aging and contributions from Gunnison County, City of Gunnison, RTA and ridership donations.
