Child and Family Services Manager: Full Time, $53,543 - $75,735 + Benefits
Gunnison County Department of Health and Human Services seeks a highly qualified Manager for the Child and Family Services program area. This upper level managerial position assures quality child welfare services through direct service, supervision of the other child and family services case work staff members, and leadership in community collaborations and other child and family serving groups. The Manager assures compliance in child welfare practice in accordance with guidelines set forth in the Colorado Children’s Code and Staff Manual Volume VII. The candidate must demonstrate values and experiences consistent with collaborative management practices, progressive child welfare practices, and a solution-focused forward thinking leadership style.
Education and experience include at least a bachelor’s degree in one of the human behavioral science fields. In order to meet the educational requirements of a human behavioral science degree, the major course work (equivalent to 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours) in either development of human behavior, child development, family intervention techniques, diagnostic measures or therapeutic techniques. Three years of full-time professional social casework experience acquired after the degree, in a public or private Human Services Agency. Master’s degree in one of the human behavioral science fields or a BSW degree accredited by the Council on Social Work Education may substitute for one year of the required experience. Supervisor Certification through the Colorado Department of Human Services Training Academy is preferred and required no later than 6 months of hire.

Gunnison County Substance Abuse Prevention Project (GCSAPP) Coordinator : Full Time, $45,391 - $64,206 + Benefits
A possible 5% increase, depending on salary, after the first six months of a 12-month probationary period. Includes the full County benefit package.
Gunnison County Juvenile Services Department seeks a Project Director for the Gunnison County Substance Abuse Prevention Project (GCSAPP). The position requires graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in social work or related field; at least four years of progressively responsible experience in human/social services and/or community-based organizations; to be a certified prevention specialist or have the ability to attain certification; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that the County deems appropriate.
The position includes: overseeing GCSAPP’s strategic plan, working collaboratively with community organizations and GCSAPP Coalition members throughout the county, assessing and evaluating programs and efforts, and managing GCSAPP’s multiple federal and state grants.

Heavy Equipment Operator I: Full Time + Benefits
The Gunnison County Public Works Department is now accepting applications for a full time Heavy Equipment Operator I position at our shop located in Crested Butte, Colorado. The opening is a 40 hour per week position with full benefits. Duties will include operation of equipment and trucks, maintenance and plowing of County roads, and light maintenance of equipment. Applicant is required to have a valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class B) and a current Health Card. Must have equipment operator certification and/or two (2) years experience driving a truck, operating a loader, and backhoe. The Gunnison County Department of Health and Human Services seeks a qualified person to fill the 35-hour/week position of Eligibility Technician to provide generalist public assistance program eligibility and case maintenance in areas of food assistance, adult and child financial and medical assistance, energy programs and possibly fraud investigation services. Functions include application initiation, interactive interviews and ongoing case management and program eligibility re-determinations.
Education and experience include required High School education or equivalent, at least one year of work in the public sector preferably in human services area or any combination of education and experience that Gunnison County deems appropriate to perform the duties of this position. Must have current computer skills, positive client engagement skills, ability to glean and apply knowledge of program areas and Rules and Regulations, Spanish language skill is preferred.
