Planning Commission

Planning Commission members are appointed by the Board of Commissioners; five regular members serve 3-year terms, two alternates serve 1-year terms. The Board seeks to appoint people with a variety of backgrounds and from several geographic locations from around the County when appointments are made.

The Commission meets regularly twice a month, usually on the first and third Fridays of each month, with meetings usually lasting all day. Individual applications are scheduled for specific times on each agenda. If you’re interested in a specific application, you may want to call the Community Development Department to confirm an agenda time and meeting date, and you may also want to included on the Commission’s regular agenda mailing list. All meetings and all records of the Commission are open to the public.
