Traditionally, the Board of County Commissioners has accepted proposals from non-profit organizations for funding consideration during the annual budget process. Funding in the past has been allocated to activities in the following areas:

  1. Health & Welfare
  2. Culture & Recreation
  3. Economic Development

During the 2010 budget process, Gunnison County received requests totaling $298,435. Funding was approved for a total of $149,999 in cash contributions as well as $24,500 in in-kind contributions. Only nine of the 42 requests were funded between $10,000 and $12,500. Over 72% of the awards were less than $5,000.

With the present economic circumstances, we anticipate similar available resources for this year’s contribution process. With this in mind, please keep your requests at $12,500 or below, and remember the vast majority of last year’s contributions were $5,000 or less. Below is a link to the 2010 grant contributions.
