Gunnison County's IT Dept designs, builds, deploys, secures, manages, monitors, updates and repairs the technical infrastructure the County business runs on.
IT (Information Technology) is becoming more and more integrated into every facet of business, and the County is no different.

- 4 Internet Servers (2 web, 1 email, 1 dns)

- 1 Anti-Spam Server
- 2 Internet Connections

- A 4-mile, 7 building fiber wan connecting:

- A WiFi Building Inter-connect
- A fiber backbone channelized T1 digital phone system
- Numerous Fax machines (as well as the fax subsystem built into the phone center)
- Numerous photocopiers
- The Postage Center
- The Crested Butte Library's computer systems and internet connection
- Untold end-user devices like fingerprint readers, page scanners, digital camera's, etc.

Securing the entire system are up-to-date Firewalls and IDS/IPS (Intrusion Detection Systems and Intrusion Provention Systems) monitored on a 24/7/365 basis.
The IT Dept also has a 6 workstation Training Center to help keep end-users up to speed on the County's software.
