We publish “The Senior Scoop” regularly in The Gunnison Country Shopper. Young At Heart
Young At Heart is an organization that provides a great social opportunity along with a delicious hot meal every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  If you are unable to leave your home to attend the lunches due to illness or disability, you may order the same hot meals to be delivered to your home by a friendly volunteer.  For prices and more information, please contact the Young At Heart office at 970-641-2107.
 
Boomers & Beyond
What do you like to do? Help Boomers’ plan the summer’s activities by completing and returning a quick survey.

Check out Gunnison’s first dedicated hangout for folks age 50+, now in the W Mountain Room of the Community Center, 200 East Spencer (same area where Young At Heart meets). Volunteers will welcome you with a cup of coffee and conversation Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Closed Saturday and Sunday. Stop by or call Dan Vollendorf, City of Gunnison Parks and Recreation Supervisor, at 970-641-8422 to find out about activities and outings planned specifically for those age 50 and better!

The City of Gunnison Parks and Recreation Department offers a variety of classes and activities. Check out their website for up to date information about this season’s offerings or call them at 970-641-8060. The Community Center is located at 200 East Spencer in Gunnison. 
                                
Gunnison County Senior Transportation
Gunnison Living Community provides transportation services to the Young at Heart lunch, Community Center, and in-town errands on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. To arrange a ride, please call 970-596-6700, at least 24 hours in advance of needing a ride. There is no charge for those 60+, however donations a gratefully accepted and encouraged. For Senior transportation needs in the Crested Butte area, please contact Barbara at 970-275-4768.
