Gunnison County Public Works Department hours are Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. If you need a vehicle earlier than 7:00 a.m. be sure that your reservation dates reflect picking the vehicle up the day before. If you come back after 4:30 p.m. please leave the vehicle parked at the Public Works Facility, locked and put the keys
in the key box up by our front door. Please make sure that the vehicle is returned as scheduled to facilitate other schedules. Please do not keep the vehicle overnight or over the weekend unless scheduled to do so.
Reservations are made on a first come first served basis so please make your reservation by completing this form and submitting it to the Public Works Department as far in advance of your trip as possible via email to both (
msaulpaugh@gunnisoncounty.org and
dferchau@gunnisoncounty.org). Cancellations need to be done as soon as possible, preferably prior to the day of use, to make the vehicle available to others and avoid any unneeded processing. If a reservation is made, cancellation is not completed and the vehicle is not picked up your department will be charged a
$50 No Show fee each time.
Each vehicle will be fueled prior to pickup and have a county gas card in the glove box, on the visor or in the console for use if needed during your trip. You will be prompted to enter the odometer and your employee number at the gas pump. The cards are NJPA and accepted at any gas station with the WEX emblem (an example of the emblem is on the card). You are not required to return the vehicle with a full tank of gas. Insurance cards, registration information and accident forms and procedures are in the glove box.
